DUNE ALLEN BEACH, FLORIDA - BEACH TRAVELER INFORMATION


Dune Allen Beach lies along the Scenic Highway 30-A to the South of The Emerald Coast Parkway. It is a small community that surrounds the Stallworth Lake. The coastal dune lakes are a specialty of this region and besides some parts of Africa and Australia are not found anywhere else in the world. The marine life is equally unique with some of it not seen in any other part of the world. It is the first community that you will see when you enter the scenic South Walton Area. The best part about Dune Allen is its quite serenity. The beach is about two miles long with the trademark Florida white sand and shimmering emerald water. It is lined with condos and small beach homes many of which are available on rent. The town revels in its simplicity and only has a mini mart, two restaurants and an antique store.

One of the places to visit is the Quarter a historical neighborhood located to the northeast of Stallworth Lake. It was one of the first interracial neighborhoods in the state. The beach is perfect for a multitude of recreational activities like fishing, jet skiing, sailing, swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving and boating. The Timpochee Trail which is a 19 mile paved path starts at Dune Allen. There are a couple of ways to traverse across this trail you can walk your way or you could rent a bike. The trail offers some of the most scenic spots in the area. It is not unusual to spot migratory birds from time to time and depending on the season trees and flowers native to the region. There is also a championship Golf course in the vicinity which is open all year round. The dolphin cruises are another popular tourist activity.

Dune Allen has its fair share of popular restaurants. Elmo's Grill has a family atmosphere and mouth watering sea food and steaks. Stinky's Fish Camp is another popular joint, dont let the name fool you there us nothing stinky about this place only the freshest fish served in the most heavenly sauces.
