Sure, you’ve taken part in scavenger hunts before. But have you ever taken part in one where you could earn up to $10,000 for your student organization or favorite charity ? If you’re a college student surfing down to Panama City Beach for spring break between March 4 and 24, 2012 , you’ll not only have a chance to bask in the emerald-green waters and sunbathe on the sugar- sand beaches, but also to join a scavenger hunt where you can snag big bucks. The hunt includes 20-25 challenges organized on a weekly basis for college groups. Challenges include: Activities like solving mind-bending riddles Unusual physical dares Racing for the best time At the conclusion of the three-week contest the team with the best score will win the grand prize — $10,000 for their student organization or charity of choice — with two other teams receiving runner-up awards of $2,500 each. The details: Students will compete in teams of six or less and collect items along the hunt that can be made into Spring Break mementos. Challenges will occur between 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. each day and will differ from week to week. All scavenger hunt events and clues will be conducted on location in Panama City Beach. Did you know that SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment has helped rescue and rehabilitate more than 20,000 animals in their 45 years? In fact, their animal rescue team is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. ‪‪ They also work closely with other marine centers around the state and the country, like Gulf World Marine Park in Panama City Beach. Just this week, a stranded Atlantic spotted dolphin was rescued by Gulf World but due to a lack of rehabilitation space, they called SeaWorld Orlando for help. After being stabilized, the 240 lb female spotted dolphin was transported to Orlando, where she is being monitored closely. Today’s update report states that the little lady is showing good progress: she is eating on a regular basis and is receiving fluids.
