Dade City, located in East Pasco County about 45 minutes northeast of Tampa, is always a wonderful off-the-beaten-path town to visit. It will be especially nice to visit on Jan. 26 when the colorful, wonderful, 16th Annual Kumquat Festival rolls in. Presented by the Greater Dade City Chamber of Commerce, last summer the Southeast Tourism Society named this as a Top 20 event, with roughly 40,000 guests arriving in Dade City to enjoy a range of small town events including… • Kumquat Pageant • Kumquat Recipe Contest • Kumquat Quilt Contest • Merchants’ Window Decorating Contest • Grove and Packing House Tours If you’ve seen downtown Dade City before, the pace is fairly slow and steady.
