Treasure! A New Exhibit At Ft. Myers Imaginarium
Treasure! This is a new, hands-on exhibit at the Imaginarium Science Center in Fort Myers where your kids can embark on their own exciting quest and explore: Underwater Treasure, Buried Treasure, Gold Rushes, Treasures in the Attic, Treasure in Popular Culture and lots more. Every aspect of treasure hunting can be discovered with all kinds of hands-on fun now through May 20, 2012: Take the controls of a remote-operated vehicle (ROV) used to uncover underwater treasures Relive the Gold Rush and try panning for gold Experiment with metal detectors Embark on a geocache using GPS navigation ARRRR your kids into pirates? There’s even more fun to be had! They’ll learn to tie nautical ropes, design their own Pirate Flag and even create a souvenir to take home. Want to win your way in? There are two ways: Visit the Imaginarium's Facebook page and look for the “I Discovered Treasure!’ contest. The second way to win is with location-based drawings at both the Imaginarium and Pieces of Eight Pirate Cruise at Salty Sam’s Marina. (This pirate ship cruise is SO much fun, even for adults. I bet you arrive back on land with your face painted, wielding a sword, and sporting a tattoo!) Bonus: Saturday, Feb, 4 at 1 p.m. in the Imaginarium Theatre, real-life treasure hunter, Pat Clyne will give a most fascinating multi-media presentation. Pat is the author of “The Atocha Odyssey,” and along with Mel Fisher, he helped discover the Atocha ! (The greatest ship wreck treasure ever found!) He’ll also be available for book signings.
